Completely remove tool

Download Eraser 6.0.10.2620

Eraser 6.0.10.2620

Eraser - 8.69MB (Open Source)

Label Label Label

Eraser is an advanced security tool for Windows which allows you to completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns.
When you delete a file, the operating system does not really remove the file from the disk; it only removes the reference of the file from the file system table. The file remains on the disk until another file is created over it, and even after that, it might be possible to recover data by studying the magnetic fields on the disk platter surface.
There are several problems in secure file removal, mostly caused by the use of write cache, construction of the hard disk and the use of data encoding. These problems have been taken into consideration when Eraser was designed, and because of this intuitive design and a simple user interface, you can safely and easily erase private data from your hard drive.

Monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures CPU with Speedfan

Download SpeedFan 4.47

SpeedFan 4.47

Almico - 2.04MB (Freeware)

Label Label Label

SpeedFan is a program that monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures in computers with hardware monitor chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info and show hard disk temperatures.
SpeedFan supports SCSI disks too. SpeedFan can even change the FSB on some hardware (but this should be considered a bonus feature).
SpeedFan can access digital temperature sensors and can change fan speeds accordingly, thus reducing noise.
SpeedFan can find almost any hardware monitor chip connected to the 2-wire SMBus (System Management Bus (trademark belonging to SMIF, Inc.), a subset of the I2C protocol) and works fine with Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, 2003, XP and Windows Vista. It works with Windows 64 bit too.

SpeedFan can handle:
almost any number of South Bridges
almost any number of hardware monitor chips
almost any number of hard disks
almost any number of temperature readings
almost any number of voltage readings
almost any number of fan speed readings
almost any number of PWMs

Determine your SSD drive's performance

Download AS SSD benchmark 1.6.4237

AS SSD benchmark 1.6.4237

Alexej Schepeljanski - 258KB (Freeware)

Label Label Label Label

With AS SSD Benchmark you can determine your SSD drive's performance by conducting several specific tests.
Test the sequential or random read/write performance without using the cache. AS SSD Benchmark reads/writes a 1 GByte file as well as randomly chosen 4K blocks. Additionally, it performs the tests using 1 or 64 threads and it determines the SSD's access time.
Two extra benchmark tests examine the drive's behaviour when (1) copying a few big files, a lot of small files and a mixture of file sizes by using cached copy functions of your OS as well as (2) reading/writing data depending on the data's compressibility.

Defraggler your PC

Defraggler 2.11.560 Piriform - 3.53MB (Freeware)

Most defrag tools only allow you to defrag an entire drive. Defraggler lets you specify one or more files, folders, or the whole drive to defragment.
When Defraggler reads or writes a file, it uses the exact same techniques that Windows uses. Using Defraggler is just as safe for your files as using Windows.
At a glance, you can see how fragmented your hard drive is. Defraggler's drive map shows you blocks that are empty, not fragmented, or needing defragmentation.

  • Give your hard drive a quick touch-up with Quick Defrag
  • Organizes empty disk space to further prevent fragmentation
  • Defragment while you sleep - and wake up with a faster PC. Set Defraggler to run daily, weekly or monthly
  • Full Windows OS and Multi-lingual support
  • Boot time defrag of system files
  • Supports 37 major languages
Defraggler is made by Piriform, the company that also brought you CCleaner and Recuva, so is completely free!
